Week 3 - It's Gonna Be Me

Drew Brees (MATT) was this week's high scorer with 44.5 points!
What a great couple of weeks! We have a tie for first place between Jim and Lauren. Both of them are off to hot 3-0 starts. After that we have a logjam of 2-1 teams jockeying for position.

Championship Belt:
With his victory, Jim retains the title belt for this week. Gabe will have the chance to steal this week.

Reasons to Watch:
Dickey Doo and the Click Clack (12) vs. Punt Intended (4) – Despite Swag's best efforts, Nate's season isn't going quite like he had hoped. The front end is strong, led by David Johnson and Sammy Watkins but the back end has been a little bit of an adventure. All season he has only gotten 13 points out of a trio of kickers and in the last two weeks his defense has been a bit of a mess lending only 9 points to the effort. He'll hope to change his fortunes this week with some great matchups on deck.

While last week wasn't her best, a win is a win. Alexis will look to get more out of Keenan "Countdown" Allen this week along with Jared Cook (her presumed replacement for Engram). She'll also need to sort out the defense as they provided unsteady results through 3 weeks.

Nate will get the first and the last word this week.

I've missed you Gridiron Heights:

Go Big Reddick (11) vs. Scott Frosty (5)    Ali's team looks a little like the Patriots, by that I mean they are talented but severely under performing at the moment. The back end of the WR corps has to be frustrating. Fitzgerald and Cobb are not quite living up to the hype. Hopefully Rosen "the Nosen" in  will give Fitzy a jump start. Coupled with what will hopefully be a bounce back game for Brady could lead to a great match up. It isn't much of a consolation but nobody has had more points scored against them than Ali.

Dan will be looking for a bounce back of his own this week after his first defeat of the season. His waiver wire all-stars are still delivering and he'll hope they can carry him through another week. Especially after he really doubled down on the banter this week with the name change.

Ali kicks it off, Dan brings it home.

These guys are pretty good:

Gemini Irregulars (10) vs. The Donkey Punchers (6) – It has been an ignominious start for Ted this season. After a great week to kick it off its been a sub par ever since. Unsteady performances from his Washington players and the absence of Fournette are taking their toll. It hasn't been easy sledding for him this season he has the 2nd most points scored against him.

Raheel has also had a slightly unsteady season but he has pulled out two wins thus far. His team is interesting in the fact that he has two reliable studs in "Burly" Todd Gurley and Mike Evans with an interesting supporting cast. While the other eight skill position players on his team are undoubtedly talented, they are either explosive or completely impotent. He'll be playing an interesting game of "will he, won't he" for the rest of the season trying to pick the right lineup.

They'll kick it off tonight and Ted has the last word on Monday.

Those Rams do alright:

Straight Outta Scottsdale (9) vs. Get Ricarded (7)  – Tough week for Mike. Losing Jimmy GQ hurts as he was looking promising. Mike's real problem this season has been twofold. The lack of production from Amari Cooper and lack of a second solid running back. It looks like he'll roll with Bortles and Devonta this week leading Sleeper to believe this well be a 50/50 matchup.

Anthony's biggest problem has be the tight end position and game day gremlins. Last second roster swaps have hurt him a little bit this season. Although he seems to be combating the problem by emptying his roster. It's a bold move cotton, let's see if it works out for him.

Wire to wire on this one.

49ers keeping the faith:

The Real Gabasaur (8) vs. Butt Growl (1) – Gabe got a win last week on the back of Matt Ryan's ridiculous day. He can't be happy with that RB2 slot or his last second swap out of Tyler Boyd but end of the day you have to be happy with the win. He has a tall order this week and will need a team effort to get it done.

Jim has picked up right where he left off last season. He has been rolling along but faces his first challenge with an early bye week for Christian McCaffrey. He'll hope Breida can be healthy and effective this week.

Jim is heavy on Thursday before we wrap this up on Sunday afternoon.

Live look in at Jim's season so far:

Matty Ice (3)  vs. Sailor Wenis (2)  – Matt has had a resurgent season in spite of essentially burning his first round pick. While he awaits Le'Veon's return, his spirits were lifted with waiver wire addition Adrian Peterson and surprising star Carlos Hyde turning in great performances last week. Some top notch team management has helped get him off to a great start this season.

He will be tested this week when he takes on Lauren the undefeated. She set a perfect lineup last week and will have to do the same this week to keep the streak alive. She 'll hope the strength of her receiving corp can carry her to another victory.

We will have to wait until Monday night to find out the results of this one.
